Questions You Should Ask When Choosing an Election Vendor
- How long have they been in the election business and do they serve my industry?
- What is their annual web up-time rate and how redundant is their broadband pipeline to the web?
- What is the vendor’s customer satisfaction rating?
- What is the vendor’s voter satisfaction rating?
- Can they describe what operating systems and browsers will function using their online voting system?
- Do they have state-of-the-art technology and security?
- Is their facility secured with physical and electronic security? Motion and fire detectors? Do they have a pass-card security system?
- Is their online balloting system ADA (Section 508) compliant so that visually impaired voters can cast their ballot?
- Do they monitor online voter comments during the voting process and provide them to you at the end of the election?
- What are their exact quality control procedures?
- Will they tell you the exact staff that will work on your project and provide background information on those staff?
- How many elections does the vendor run each year? And how many projects will your primary contact be managing while running your election?
- What is their scanning/verifying accuracy rate?
- Can they tell you what your members liked about the voting process when all is said and done?
- Do they have an acceptable Business Contingency/Emergency Disaster Plan?
